Kelder Named to Human Rights Commission

Ulster County Executive Michael Hein appointed SUNY New Paltz professor and United University Professions (UUP) President Richard Kelder to the Ulster County Human Rights Commission on March 29.

Kelder has been adjunct professor in the Communications and Media Department at SUNY New Paltz since 1996, and UUP chapter president since 2009.

The term for his appointment lasts from April 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013. There are 11 members on the Ulster County Human Rights Commission. The goals of this commission are to address problems of discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodation, education and credit.
