Overcoming Heartbreak with Lisa Phillips

The HawkTalk is a TED inspired program. Each semester the TV Studio Production students choose an issue or topic that they are concerned about and then they invite four speaker to come to the studio to share their experience or research on the subject which culminates in a 32 minute program with diverse perspectives.

Journalist and author Lisa Phillips talks about getting over heartbreak. After experiencing her own intense breakup over 20 years ago which ended with a call to the police, Phillips decided to make heartbreak not only the subject of her book, “Unrequited: Women and Romantic Obsession” but also the subject of her magazine reporting. Phillips discusses tips that experts advise when dealing with different kinds of heartbreak.

Produced by Prof. Megan Sperry’s TV Studio Production class in Fall 2019.
