Rosendale’s Santa Fe Burger Bar has the DNA of a Diner and the Soul of an old-school grill.
The Santa Fe Burger Bar in Rosendale, NY, well known for its juicy burgers, colossal shakes, extensive selection of craft beers and well-satisfied guests, opened its doors in 2021. While it’s dubbed a burger bar, their all-encompassing menu offers everything from ahi tuna poke and kale farro salads to crispy cod sandwiches and hot dogs. And my oh my, their shakes; apple crisp, key lime pie and creme brulee—the menu features something for everyone’s sweet tooth.
The burgers are what draws the crowds. For this week’s Weekly Special, the first in our series of posts about area eats, we’re showcasing their D&H Canal burger. Their all natural, local, level three certified black angus beef comes in from Schweid & Sons Farm and is char-grilled for that mouth-watering backyard BBQ flavor. This beef is bolstered between two brioche buns, slathered with a sharp black and green peppercorn sauce and topped with a creamy brie cheese—not to mention the classic but peak freshness toppings: lettuce, tomato, onions and bread and butter pickles. Their beautiful burgers can be accompanied by their classic crispy french fries, aromatic onion rings or worth-the-wait waffle fries.
There are healthier fares as well, including their crunchy char-grilled brussels sprouts, fresh side salads or their Impossible burger with special sauce. With options aplenty, you can drop the bun all together, or opt for a gluten-free bun.
