The Weekly Special – Tea Talk

Get ready tea lovers… Tea Talk, a Hudson Valley tea house, is serving traditional, bubble and specialty brews, all from their good-vibes shop in the Poughkeepsie Plaza. Business owner, Jenna, fulfilled her mother’s dream of owning a tea shop. Today, Jenna shares her fun and refreshing creations with the people of Poughkeepsie, including an extensive list of seasonal specials and an all inclusive build your own menu.

This tea shop breaks its menu down into three categories: premium tea, bubble tea and house specials. Premium tea generally includes exactly what you would imagine—hot black tea and green tea, flavor blends, decaf brews and a myriad of oolong options, all made from the classic dry leaves.

The bubble tea, sold in 22 oz. cups for only $6.75, is the build-your-own section of the menu. It’s simple: No. 1, choose your bubble tea flavor. With both milk tea and fruit tea options, there are over 58 flavors, including sakura rose, chai and Thai milk teas, as well as passion fruit, acai palmberry and lychee fruit teas. No. 2, choose a tea base—black tea, green tea, or premium tea. And then No. 3, add the boba! The options are numerous, including  popping pearls, jelly stars and cubes, not to mention the classic black tapioca pearls.

Tea Talk’s taro milk tea is a mixture of taro powder, green tea, milk creamer and classic tapioca pearls, providing drinkers with a nearly neutral flavor.

And finally, the mouthwatering house specials menu. Smoothies. S’mores tea. Strawberry shortcake brew. And the most exciting of all: Pokemon, anime and Disney drinks.

That brings us to The Weekly Special: the “fruit basket” from the anime menu. Crisp, cold tea with the refreshing flavors of white peach, pomegranate and cherry blossom, paired with strawberry, kiwi and peach popping bubbles. This fruity blend of invigorating flavors is among their six other anime flavors to satisfy their most fun fans.

Prices range from $2.50 to $7.50 depending on the simplicity of the drink. All build your own bubble tea is $6.75. Tea Talk also offers a variety of specialty dry leaves and bags from Harney & Sons fine teas, right out of Millerton NY. This one stop shop for tea lovers has it all—walls of tea tins, accessories and fun mugs to put your steamy creations in.
