February 5, 2020On Wednesday, Feb. 5 the Psychological Counseling Center, OASIS/HAVEN, and the Office of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion will host the LGBTQ+ Mental Health Awareness Day at 2 p.m. in Student Union Room 418. At the event, representatives will hold a discussion about on-campus resources, wellness and LGBTQ+ barriers with mental health. Participants will also be able to create their own self-care plan and ask anonymous questions. This event is free, open to the public and will provide free pizza. February 9, 2020The Woodstock Film Festival will host an Oscar viewing party on Sunday, February 9 at 7 p.m. at Rough Draft Bar and Books. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided along with a cash bar. Along with the awards viewing, arrive early to enter a 50/50 ballot for oscar winners in each category and a number of other raffles from local businesses. February 10, 2020On Monday February 10, Ted Toadvine will be presenting a lecture titled, “Why Are We Obsessed with the End of the World?” in Lecture Center 102 from 5 to 7 p.m. In this talk, Toadvine, an associate professor of sociology at Pennsylvania State University, discusses the threat of climate collapse and the controversy over the apocalyptic narrative of present day planet earth. This talk is the first spring event of the “Without Limits: Interdisciplinary Conversations in the Liberal Arts” series, continuing the year-long examination of the Anthropocene.
