Following the approval of a new constitutional amendment by voters in November 2013, New York is set to approve four resort-style casinos across the state this fall. The casinos will be spread across three regions, with one casino built in each region. New Paltz falls into the Catskills/ Hudson Valley Region, which includes Delaware, Green, Columbia, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange County. Nine of the 17 casino proposals are for the Catskill/ Hudson Valley Region, creating fierce competition for the possible two licenses for the region. The Little Rebellion will continue to update this page as the siting process continues. For more information, readers can also visit the casino section of the NYS Gaming Commission website.
