“It’s Time to Take Action to Combat Climate Action” with Brian Obach

The HawkTalk is a TED inspired program. Each semester the TV Studio Production students choose an issue or topic that they are concerned about and then they invite four speakers to come to the studio to share their experience or research on the subject which culminates in a 32 minute program with diverse perspectives

Sociology professor Brian Obach discusses climate action, the change that needs to happen to keep our Earth safe. Obach goes into detail about how singular actions aren’t going to help on a large scale, but that changing the structure of society can bring about real change. Obach goes on to discuss that the entire population does not need to be educated to bring about change, only the decision makers and policy makers do.

Produced by Prof. Megan Sperry’s TV Studio Production class in Fall 2019.
