Feb. 28-March 3: For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf

Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf will be performed at the McKenna Theater on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m., Friday, March 1 at 8 p.m. with a pre-show theater talk at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. A second installment of the show will run from Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. The collection of poetic monologues performed through theatrics, known as “choreopoem,” showcases seven women who, while having suffered oppression in a racist and sexist society, form a sisterhood through stories of love, empowerment, struggle and loss.
