Sounds of New Paltz

Our days begin with the ringing of the van den Berg bell. It reminds us to pick up the pace. We’re on campus a majority of the week and we hear the same sounds: chatter in the hallways, doors squeaking, determined footsteps and the hustle and bustle of Main Street Bistro. These sounds keep us flowing seamlessly Monday through Friday, promising us that the fresh breath of the weekend will come. For me, that fresh breath of air is my favorite part. I shut off the sounds of the week to welcome in the sounds and breathtaking sights New Paltz has to offer. It’s all right in our backyard– no cover charge required.
