Word on the Street is…

We love astronomy news and news about extraterrestrial life, and this one is the best yet. Scientists have discovered a new form of life, and it doesn’t have any of the properties that harbor life on Earth! These babies are made out of straight-up ARSENIC.

This could revolutionize bioenergy.

In other space-news (told you we love this stuff), astronomers have discovered that there are likely THREE TIMES more stars in the universe than we expected there to be. This dramatically increases our chances of finding ALIENS!

This is good because it’s looking like we may have to move to space soon. The United States says North Korea may be hiding more nuclear sites with potential military uses after revealing its construction of a uranium enrichment facility. Wah waaah.

In other earthly news, drilling deep into the earth could be banned, limitedly, in New York. The state assembly passed a hydraulic fracturing moratorium bill, which is currently en route to Gov. David Paterson’s desk.

We lost the bid for the 2022 World Cup. And while that might mean less rowdy bar-room brawls (we doubt it), this guy from Freakonomics says it’s actually a good thing for our economy.

Speaking of the economy, we love to buy things, especially during the holiday season. So as always, we’ll leave you with some seasonal spice. Here’s a list of the best things to buy for YOURSELF in December, from wedding items to home electronics.

And of course, dear readers, happy holidays!
