Student Profile: The Dreamer: From Africa to New Paltz

Amadu Barrie was born in Sierra Leone during a time of civil war and hardship. He and his family traveled by foot from Sierra Leone to a safer Guinea and eventually to America in order to start a new life. All the while, Amadu’s mother and father emphasized the importance of education to him.
