Americans spend over $500 billion to obtain energy, but we are still using a limited resource as our main supply. We are dependent on fossil fuels, there’s no doubt about it. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much done to fix our need for this non-renewable resource. But there is a new hope with the election of Barack Obama, who has promised to support alternative energy. In this audio story, Ryan Markee reports on people in the Hudson Valley who are already taking the initiative to make their own lives energy independent. Written and produced with Ian Kane.
